I for one has started to believe this has been a bad idea. People has started to post pointless posts everywhere & reviving old threads to get points. It is kind of frustrating to see.

Howe about this idea, to prevent people from posting nonsense.
A post that make no sense or/and is only written too gate credits, will be reported and the writer of the massage will lose the points that’s given for the post.
But in the user hand, if a post get likes and is interesting / informative. The writer will get more credits in proportion to the likes.
I belief this will make the people think before writing and the forum much more interesting.

No. Because then people can do those things to earn more credit. It is better that you don't know.
