You need to get their phone numbers by talking to them after winning a battle against them first. Then call the during their time slots and they'll give you stones.

Well I have a doubt on this, Why cant we reuse a evolution stone.....
In the game we can use a stone only once....
Why ??
in the anime, we can use any stone any no. of times....
Also, we can evolve any kind of pokemon......
In the game, I cant evolve my poliwag to polywhirl using a water stone,, but that is shownin the anime........

Ya ! Bcoz the first time I got my evoloution stone from him, I didn't had to rematch !
Yes, he sometimes gives you a stone without a rematch, and other times he wants a rematch. He's a bit random I guess. ^.^; But I don't know exactly what conditions with him gives you certain stones though, but there's probably someone on this site who knows.

I guess during rain, he gives the water stone and in daylight the thunder stone.......
