How do you ride a pokemon?

I taught "ride" to my Quilava because the other pokemon I have can't learn it. I can't find an option to actually ride it, though.

Normaly you need to open your pokemon's window, select your Quilava and it's like above "summary" i think.

How do you teach it to your Pokémon? Is it like a move?

It's in a house in Goldenrod city (the one with the normal badge leader). There is many eevee evolution in it so you cant miss it. It's on the opposite side of the town of the pokecenter and the radio. You can catch Stantler really early in the game and teach him ride (he's the deer and i'm actually using it so Magicbeirdei you should try it too. Maybe it's only Quilava who haves a bug with.) I can send you a Stantler if you want.

I just checked the source and it appears you need whitney's badge to use ride
