Anyone know how to earn it right now. I've seen a couple trades with pokemon holding them so this leads me to believe there might be a way to earn it in this update. Do magnemites finally have a chance of holding them when caught or has it been added somewhere in-game.

I am not sure and I don't think so.
The item is in the files, (Not sure if accessible.) but not yet obtainable in-game. I sure as hell didn't catch any Pokémon holding anything. :/

Im pretty sure the people trading it in gts hacked since it shouldnt be available yet

Well, technically only one individual had two pokemon holding metal coats in the GTS. But they were trying to trade them away for other pokemon holding metal coat that trade evolve as well. So it didn't make sense to me. Like why not just cheat for Scizor or Steelix rather than a metal coat?

It might be because it's easier to just edit in an item than it is to edit in a functional evolver pokemon (because you've got to have knowledge about stats, exp, IVs and Evs).
I use the GTS all the time to get pokemon I don't have, but I rarely put up trades myself. Instead I just complete trades. That way, you can check the summery of the pokemon you're recieving to see if it's legit-ish. I once recieved a pokemon from someone who hacks in pokes, but the pokemon he/she sent me was legit.

I think the cheaters should be punished. Pulling out their pokes from the GTS, restarting the acc or anything for that matter. It's not right for a bunch of people to ruin the game for the rest.

I think giving them this publicity is exactly what they want. If there's something you don't agree with, cheater/hacking wise, talk to a mod. Ofcourse, they forums are for discussion, but all you're really doing is giving the person what he/she wants.

I don't think this person wants attention drawn to them (Or they would have been trading away multiple masterballs). But we shouldn't accuse them of anything even if we 100% certain it is impossible. For all we know, this person could have gotten metal coats off someone else or they actually are implemented into the game by some random coding accident. All I'm saying is staff is the only one who could know with an absolute certainty if someone cheated.

At least I know I'm not the only who doesn't have a metal coat now. That's good enough for me.
