Not a bug Can't look away from roof

When i first join the game my mouse goes straight to the roof and when i try looking away to see where i am going it wont it moves a bit then goes straight back to the roof and spins around in circles. Help me please. I havn't played this game before but really want to.
also this is version 0.34

I'm not really understanding but do you mean the rolling ball under the mouse. If so i don't. I have the scroll in the middle at the top.

That's weird. Have you tried pressing 'C' or F4?
Or are you running another program in the background while playing?
Or have a table or something similar plugged in?
