What I'm wondering.... weren't they saying Dunsparce is going to be a fairy type? Shouldn't it be edited here as a fairy type as well???
I never heard that.

And now I realized the list was just more Fairy types, it wasn't intended to include the confirmed ones.

I am totally fine with the new fairy type... It will help balance out the dragon pokemon.

I would however would have wanted it to be something cooler like Moon type or something less girly.. Not that it is bad. I can see myself using some fairy type pokemon in the future.

IMO They should've went with type light. Light sounds infinitely more awesome than flipping fairy. I'm still hanging on some hope that there was a mistranslation somewhere.

Fairy type I think will end up more based on the original concept of the faerie rather than Tinker Bell or Navi.
Some Faeries have been known:
  • To kidnap children
  • To appear different to different people
  • To have many names (keeping their true name secret)
  • To disguise themselves and other things using faerie glamor (E.G. Kelpies disguise as horses)
  • To eat people in some cases (E.G. Kelpies)
  • To cause disease to those they encounter
  • To be able to change their form at will
  • To put people in a trance or put a person completely under their control
  • Have odd features (such as oversized or non-existent facial features such as noses or mouths, or lack of emotion)
  • Don't always have wings (and do not require them for flight)
  • To be visible only to certain people
  • To seemingly teleport
  • Trick humans into trusting them before leading them into some sort of trap
This may lead to many Fairy/Dark type Pokemon. I hopethat some fit these descriptions.
And guess what no-faced lovable guy do we know that fits this description? That's right! Slendy is a faerie!

.....er....what? >> are you serious? No, this not what fairy type pokemon are. But it is possible there may be a fairy/dark type pokemon. But seriously the only thing that works really well is where gengar is a fallen fairy.

They should totally make Slenderman a pokemon. His name even fits the ten character limit.

You have darkrai...who is pretty much looks ALMOST like Slenderman and haunts your dreams.

I'm very excited for the new Fairy-Type (it will probably become one of my favorite types) provided they keep the Fairy Pokemon closer to the actual faerie lore. Real faeries are spirits that do much of what Dialga has stated. They are kind of a mix between Psychic Types, Ghost Types, and then in most cases another elemental type.

Well, my first thought were of this :

Navi beating up Bahamut Neo

I am not a fan of the name "Fairy". It makes the image of it seem girly (not meant to be offensive, just a stereotype that has been set by society), and the thought that it is going to be effective against Dragon. Honestly though, my main issue is the name, "Fairy". It makes you think of Navi, as some others have stated, even though fairies were originally mischievous creatures, as some others have stated. I think that the name should be changed to "Light", or "Moon". Even "Magic" would have been a better choice I feel.
