Opinion On Fairy Type?

I can't wait to see what a Dragon/Fairy type Pokémon will look like. It'll undoubtedly be interesting.
I agree.
I like the idea, it gives more options to counter dragons. Though I've never been one for the 'cute' pokemon.
They don't ALL have to be cute, though I'm sure many will be.
Eh, as long as Electric types keep their one weakness to ground, I'm happy.
I don't think Electric will be weak to Fairy. Ice and Grass need balancing SEVERELY, especially Ice type, so they'll probably resist it (I think by their attributes this would make sense anyway), and Bug will probably be super effective on Fairy, further strengthening the ever suppressed Bug Type.

Well I still won't mind if Fairy pokemon are weak to, fighting, steel, poison.
Not Fighting, they're fine as is. Steel, Bug, Poison, Ice (similar to Flying's and Dragon's reasoning: freezing up wings), and Dark are super-effective. Resists Electric, Ground, and Psychic. Flying doesn't affect.
Doesn't affect Steel. Not very effective on Bug, Normal, Psychic, Ice, or Electric. Super-effective on Dragon, Dark, Ghost, Water, Fire, and Fairy.

What do you think?

I do think Fairy wouldn't be weak to ice, since again it's magic; and there are stories about ice fairies and what not. Sorry watched the tinkerbelle movie of it xP No the reason why dragon's are weak to ice...is simple . They're cold blooded and they are reptiles...they can't survive in the cold unless they're ice/dragon, water/dragon, or steel/dragon. You may notice that some of the fairy pokemon and dragon pokemon don't have wings so that cold ice freezing wings is invalid.

About Ice being super effective against, doubt it. A fairy can summon any type of magic at will, even fire and ice. If I had to do a type matchup thing, I would say fairy is also good against dark (light and dark) but also weak to dark.

Well I think fairy would be obliviously weak to poison and steel. Poison because, fairy could also be one with nature and elements. A poison can be hazardous to a fairy's health, and if watched the strange/abit memorable/bad movie ferngully...well that would be the point why toxic waste is bad for them, pollution, gas, can cause endangerment to the enviroment. Steel is human made product, and like all beliefs steel is a technology made from human hands. Fairy would not gather nuitrients or create magic from it. Basically steel is like a resist to magic, it cannot be damage by nature unless by flames or by the earth. And since Fairy is like magic Steel is considered human technology.

Ice fairies are an invalid point: they'd be Ice/Fairy. Ice-Type needs balancing badly, and I think it's something that'd make sense.

Also, Steel represents ALL metal, like Iron, Mercury, Copper, Bronze, Etc. Some metals can be found naturally, like iron which the Aron family is made of. Their version of Fairy seems different, more like a Light Type in a lot of ways. However, Steel would crush Fairies or scatter Light by reflecting it, so any way you look at it, Steel is almost certain to be super effective.
Poison: maybe.

Ice types are weak to Fire, Rock and Fighting. It could use a little more balancing, like it being super effective against water (the cold freezes water). Other than that, not really.

This is just speculation, of course, but Ice seems to me like it'd be a Fairy weakness. I'm sure Steel will resist it, so I won't have any problem with no damn pixies. Also, Ice is weak to Steel, and only resists itself, which self-matchups can be rather ineffectual compared to other matchups, and as many Types that are weak to it also resist it, statistically making it possibly the worst Type. This makes me think they'll improve it somehow. Hopefully they'll add advantages over Fairy as well as even rearrange it's matchups with already existing types. I also hope they'll boost the Bug-Type, as I mentioned. Bug-type could use the boost, as other than Volcarona for it's near-pseudo base stats, the only really good Bug-Types are Bug/Steel pretty much. Other than Galvantula just because it's awesome.

Speaking of Bug-Type, by the looks of Vivillon, Game Freak is back to making Bug-Types as crappy and boring as possible. What about all the awesome Gen V Bugs? Why can't they manage to make anything like them again? I could be rushing my opinions, but in Gen V Shelmet was the only Bug-Type I didn't like, and that's because it wasn't Bug/Steel. Well, also the ninja Bug thing for it's looks, and I don't know statistically for it.

Sylveon probably comes from Sylva, the Latin word for forests. Fairies are often associated with the woods (there was an image of a new Pokemon that resembles a fairy on a plant)
This may hint that there will be something going on with grass and bug, just not sure if its weakness or resistance.

More likely the name comes from sylph
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylph
The Jap. name comes from nymph, a type of fairy. While this would still associate it with forests, it's likely that it will strongly become it's own element while still utilizing a wide variety of grass moves, in much the same way that Dragon became it's own element rather than just being all Dragon/Flying types, but still uses a lot of Fire type moves.

You're 2 posts behind. I mentioned that here:

Whoops sorry. Now Mr./Ms. Dialga just because they introduced another bug/flying pokemon...the nintendo company wanted to keep the traditional pokemon butterfly/moth/bee whatever that might be easy for trainers to evolve and be easier for beginner trainers. I know it's not original, there's butterfree, dustox, beautifly, beedrill. But like the bird pokemon, they needed to start with the bugs too. Just because it's species are the same they tried to make the look different like how other butterflies are.

It's also goes the same with people complaining about there are still another frog or another monkey. Heck, there's different kinds of frogs here in the world and monkeys. Why aren't people aren't complaining about today's oh...another monkey great. People have to look that this is a pokemon world that has somewhat similar to our world, different monkey pokemon, differen frog pokemon....crocodiles that live in sands, sharks that devour you in sand...and hippos that can tear you to shreds in the sand. Things like that.
