Phone Numbers and Resets: Gym leaders and Professors

Well, as the patch notes state, you DO NOT need to reset to obtain the pokegear.

But what about phone numbers to Gym Leaders you have already beaten or Prof. Elm? Prof. Oak? I suppose the first real question should be: Have they been implemented yet? Secondly, if they have: Do I need to restart in order to obtain said Numbers? As talking to Elm does nothing right now, and you obtain Prof. Oaks number at the same time he gives you the Pokedex. Not to mention talking to Gym leaders does nothing either.

Lets just be real... With all the hacked pokemon that are currently in the GTS (yes it's possible to change an NPC's script to even start a "wild" shiny battle, with the pokemon and level of your choice.) the game needs a restart... Sorry all of you who have played legit, but I wouldn't get too attached to your files. I stopped playing as soon as I read the scripts were editable. No one wants to spend hours looking for a certain pokemon with the abilty they want and decent evs if some jerk can just basically spawn in w.e pokemon with w.e moveset they want (yep. changing the pokemons .dat file before capturing it allows you to change which moves it learns when it levels up, let alone base stats).

One Final Question... for the staff to mull over:

If you edit the script to spawn a pokemon from the complete pokedex pack (Darkfire's signature file which adds .dat files for all generations of pokemon), and place that pokemon on the GTS, would it crash the GTS for people without his pack? Something to look into. Far to many ways to ruin the game for others right now.

EDIT 2: You can't even get Bills number from his sister... an NPC specifically designed to give you his number.

Edit 3: Apparently, Prof Elm can call you even if you don't have his number (This still will not register his number into your PokeGear).

I'd wouldn't bother about the files being changeable if you don't like it don't do it yourself it won't work for the online saves and the gts is monitored as best they can. As for the pokegear it has only just been fully implemented so give them time. Take note that some of the calls we get are a bit bugged (fisherman ralphs "RANDOMMESSAGE" call for one). Not all of the numbers on that list may be add this game is going by the older games to a degree for one thing the safari zone is not in (unless they plan to put it in fushia once more) and we don't have lyra/ethan and there not really needed the pokemon don't say as much as in heartgold (I think).

This was never possible.
You had to hunt them down postgame at specialized locations.

Most pokes that arent catchable were made available via the daily competition. And since most are available to breeders who distribute them to everybody else, giving yourself random pokemon offers little advantage since the rank system gives points for actually training your pokemon.

This is a very arrogant post that ignores the fact that the game is still INDEV and is being worked on. Sorry that we can't give you a fully complete and perfect game out of thin air.

Also most of the pokemon you say are "hacked in" are actually pokemon coming from our very generous breeding team who viciously win these special pokemon in our daily competition. And seeing that we've had one competition daily for over a month now, yes it is highly possible that there are tons of unobtainable pokemon in the GTS. And yea sure the game is totally hack able, in offline mode. The online mode isn't absolutely shut tight that much is true. But it sure as hell isn't easily hacked. Yes there are ways to hack in pokemon, but not to the extent that anyone can easily spawn super powered pokemon. The knowledge required for that means that someone has to know how to script properly for the game. And I'd imagine a small 1% of the community can succesfully do that. And most of the time it's people who work in conjunction with the Dev team.

So yes, how arrogant to assume that since you found a little crack in the game that its impossible to play now because suddenly everyone has the ability to script for pokemon 3D.
