When I defeated the red gyarados Lance came to me and asked me if I can help him on research. I clicked the option yes and didn't listen further. After doing random things at the Lake of Rage I saw Lance in the air.

Hehehe, this has already been reported. ;) It's quite funny.
This won't break your game or anything, carry on. ^^

Kinda new to the forums, but I gotta say more about this.

If you go through team rocket's hideout first instead of capturing the red gyarados you can cause a pretty darn big bug. If you choose to go through the hideout first, the Lance ordering his charzard to use hyperbeam scene to reveal the secret passage never happens. Not that you needed this scene to happen because the secret passage was already open in the first place. But IF you deal with the red gyarados after going through the hideout fully. The scene (although it's more of just some dialog) will happen, but cause a crash of the client. In short, you can no longer go into the building without a crash happening.

I'm editing in the crash report for the hell of it. Not sure if spoiler tags will work or not though.

Haha, indeed. "Lance, what are you doing in the air?! Get down, you're not even a flying-type!". x)

Yup. This bug has been known for a while aswell. It shouldn't be possible to go into the hideout without doing the gyarados event but mistakes were made.

Perhaps he has a cape, because he's secretly a superhero.

Superhero Lance.... I can see that happening. xD
With his dragons by his side, he protects humanity from evil.

Good to know. I have the patience to wait for something like this to be fixed. The most logical way to solve the problem would just be to ensure that the secret passage isn't revealed until the lake of rage event. Which means my crashing problem whenever I enter the place still wouldn't be fixed. Which is no biggy since I already did everything there, but if more content is added to the game that has to do with the hideout in any way, I'll forever regret not going for that gyarados first.

don't worry I placed a fix over that issue
you will be able to go into the hideout
you might see Lance and D-nite chilling there the first time
but after that it will be all good
