When I try to update my launcher to 2.1.0.0 I get an error saying this application could not be started. I am using windows 8. Net framework 3.5 and 4.5 advanced services are installed on my computer and are currently both enabled. It would be appreciated if someone helped.

I have installed XNA framework 4, but when I try to install .NET Framework 4 it says I either have it already or have a more advanced version of it.

Okay I tried updating launcher again and I got this.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Sorry for the double and long post.

If I try to download the 2.1.0.0 launcher it doesn't work. When I do try to download the 2.1.0.0 launcher I get a warning from my antivirus saying that the launcher has created a Trojan called pokemon3d.exe dropper.trojan.gen. Another thing is that I get a message saying windows doesn't have access to the file. Or that I just don't have permission to download the file which is weird because the computer I am using only has one account.

Maybe it's because your Antivirus is blocking the Launcher. The purpose of the Launcher is to check for updates and download the game from an external server. Since your Antivirus sees a "callback" command in the Launcher, it believes the Launcher to be a virus that "callsback" to its host, to take commands on infecting the computer it sits on. Have the Antivirus ignore it, it should work.

I finally managed to fix my problem. Thanks snyp.

Glad I could help. It makes sense that an Antivirus would block P3D because of the callbacks, and if the game can't function the way it was coded, then it won't run. By the way, what Antivirus are you running? It seems either highly secure, or highly paranoid. :D

I use Webroot secure anywhere.
Surprisingly enough, I've never heard of it. It seems secure enough though, since it detected Pokemon 3D's callbacks. I would stick with it if I were you, and just white-list the programs that you need, that way, you can play the games you want, and not worry about sacrificing security for it.

Hopefully the antivirus doesn't get too secure, it was pretty annoying when I couldn't play Pokemon3D, but yeah I'll keep it since it's the only antivirus I have.

If you start getting problems with your antivirus, you can switch to Microsoft Security Essentials (100% Free!) made by Microsoft themselves. The only problem I have with them is that you can't let your computer do quick scans, since it only scans the core Windows files themselves, always make sure it does full scans. Also, AVG Antivirus Free is a great program. I only switched from it to MSE because MSE was made by Microsoft, and because it didn't remind me about the premium version all the time. Either way, I'm glad I could help. Enjoy Pokemon 3D! :D
