how do you breed?

here's the thing. I am a HUGE fan of Pokemon but i have never played a original game ,couldn't afford any game or console .The only contact i had to Pokemon was the anime and some fan games with some differences from the original games so i never bred any Pokemon .Any help would be appreciated,

On the route before Goldenrod, AKA Route 34, there's a house. Go in there and talk to the old man.
Another window (In-game) will open up and you will see your money and the deposit arrow.
Press on the Deposit arrow and it will open up your party. Select the Pokémon that you want to breed from your party.
Proceed to find a good mating partner for the Pokémon in the Daycare. A Pokémon from the same egg group or a Ditto will do. (Every Pokémon belongs to a certain egg group, the egg groups determine the compatibility of the Pokémon. However, the egg will be the same Pokémon as the female.)
Just walk 255 steps and talk to the Old Man again and there should be an egg. If not, then you need to walk another 255. Every 255 steps you take there's a chance of an egg popping up.
