Ok here are my few suggestions:

1. Add a setting to hide enemy Pokemon's level. (How is my trainer able to tell the level of every Pokemon he sees?)

2. Add a setting to also hide health bars of enemy Pokemon. (Having both these options on would certainly make the game harder & much more intense!)

1&2 would also make catching wild Pokemon much harder, and dare I say it..FUN!

3. Online mode should have the Battle Style option locked to SET, the fact that the game gives you a free switch AND which Pokemon the opponent is sending out is just ridiculous; I have always disliked this in Pokemon games. I understand that some people may like this setting but it is just ridiculous! It doesn't make any sense and makes the game far too easy IMO! (Mind reading trainers FTL!)

4. If #3 is too much then I purpose to make SHIFT setting only ask if you want to switch and not tell you who the opponent is actually sending out...I actually prefer this option over SET as well. (Our trainers are not mind readers.)

5. Change super-effective damage to x1.5 instead of x2. It's far to easy to use SHIFT and always send out the opponents weakness. This would make battles more interesting and strategic because you
wouldn't . .5x for not very effective.

6. Online mode saves should only have one opportunity to catch event Pokemon such as the Red Gyrados in Lake Rage or Sudowoodo. If you faint them that should be it. This would make these Pokemon far more valuable and wanted in trading promoting the use of the trading system.

7. Potions and other healing items other than berries should not be allowed in battle. Same goes for the Gym Leaders and trainers, NO Healing items. Only out of battle should they be able to use them.

Hope everyone understands how easy every Pokemon game has been and wants to play an online version that's a bit of a challenge!
These are just ideas I want everyone to think about, it's all just personal opinion. Don't flame me if you disagree, just state your opinion and why you feel so.

to add some realism, why dont we add the "evasive"
always wanted that in a poke game
just like ash and others do in the anime!!!!

@ leeloozete,
What do you mean by "evasive" I don't understand and do not remember that from the anime. (Only watched the first season completely).

the time he used toescape the pokemon and couter-attacked
he said evasive and the pokemon escapes the attack
my idea is to put a "!" icon on the poke head and when its the enemy turn to attack, you click and the enemy misses
want it just as a setting, not necessary

That doesn't even sound like pokemon anymore. Sounds like a click adventure with QTE events.

@ leeloozete,
Sounds like that would make the gamer easier not harder.
but like anime...
okay then no 'EVASIVE"

They kinda of already have evading abilities such as minimize which increases evasiveness AKA makes the opponent more likely to miss you.

for 1&2 the idea is that since you have a pokedex you can know these things
for pvp set will be the only option just like in the main games and I might ask nilllzz to make this standard for dif 2
effectiveness is fine where it is at maybe if we add that as part of difficulty level 2?

6) Red gyarados will have only one chance
atm all of the others have only one chance as well
we might make it reset every time you beat the league though

7) Items are a core part of the battle experience
the only reason the aren't used in competative battling is b/c not everyone would have the same money and if you run out you are out of luck
this is why a new system was added in Gen 5 to allow people to earn item uses during pvp battle

Re 1&2 The pokedex never told you the level and health of a pokemon just its number description.
nonono
the idea is that when you go into battle you use the pokedex to tell you what level and health the opponent is
the same idea applies to the party
when you view a pokemon's stats you are seeing it on the pokedex
since your pokemon will stand still for you you can see more about them than you can opposing pokemon

Essentially, you need to picture the trainer when he's fighting. He'll pull out his pokedex to scan the pokemon (this gives the pokemos strength (level) and how weak it is (HP))
The stats appear as if you are looking directly into your pokedex whilst you fight. Which is what darkfire is trying get at!

1) dont see y not, if ppl want a challegne let em have it
2) same as 1

3) i see this alot on pokemon game threads, the reason u know what pokemon is up next is because the trainer yells its name out. its even how the anime works

4) goes along with 3

5) makes sense and would probably go with a difficulty setting increase, instead of always being there. but online theyre trying to make the game like the actual ones

6) not sure what u mean, each person only has 1 chance to catch them. are u saying there needs to be special events for these kinds of pokemon? if so, again theyre trying to make it as similar to ss/hg as possible

7) i agree but that would lower the difficulty, gym leaders r far to easy w/o there precious potions :p
but deffinately healing items are a NO in competitive play
