Mahogany Gym trainer isn't beatable

Hello community,
I'm actually trying to beat the Gym Leader in Mahogany. Im trying all the time to get to him but I can't find the way to get to him to battle him.

I would be very happy if someone could help me and tell me the trick

the first issue might be you have a content pack on that doesn't allow you to see the floor
that helps ALOT
if you don't
then try going in a large spiral
