Ok, so somehow I managed to get more points than required for rank 17. I didnt level up, and my points required are going negative.
It goes up every time I get points (example: defeating a wild pokemon would decrease it to -53 points)
I am assuming its a glitch involving events that give you more than one point and the rank system not being able to handle overflow.
