They're completely different.
Player.dat has the data of your character.
Party.dat has the data of your current party. (tobish, the pokemon you currently use)

Not talking about that.
I am talking about the name of ''Party'' and ''Player'' at a quick glance, I thought you were saying: ''Not the Party file, Party.dat''.
Since the brain doesn't read all the letters, I kind of messed it up weird. Maybe cuz I am tired for no real reason.... I should eat more.
