Here is my suggestion for a trainer class and perk system!

Trainer:
I Play Legit - standard class, no perks
I Call Hax! - when battling a player who isn't a Trainer, Trainer's party recieves 10% resistance to that classes strong type, and voids all perks not related to damage

BugCatcher:
Insect Lover - bug type attacks recieve bonus damage, bug pokemon level up slightly faster

Hungry Like a Caterpie - when a bug type attacks a grass type, they will sap 10% of the total damage in hp, there is a 25% chance it will also slow the grass type and also poison it.

ZERG RUSH! - having more bug pokemon in a party increases each members attack by 10% per bug pokemon

KILL IT WITH FIRE! - fire type attacks recieve a .25x boost (total 2.25x damage) against all bug pokemon

Insecticide - poison type attacks have a 5% chance to one hit KO bug types

FireBreather:
Ignite - All fire type attacks receive bonus damage and have a higher chance of burning

Flame Retardant - Fire type pokemon resist burn completely, instead, whenever they would normally get burned they receive a 20% in fire type moves for the next 3 turns. All Pokemon in party do not receive attack loss from burn and are 10% less likely to be burned.

Hot Stuff - Fire type pokemon are 50% more resistant to freezing and can only be frozen for a max of 3 turns

Third Degree Burn - When a player burns an opponents pokemon, that pokemon receives 10% more damage from fire type moves

Dying Flames - water type damage increased by .25x( total 2.25x damage), rainy day causes small amount of damage over time, also ground or rock type moves have a 5% chance to 'Smother' the fire Pokemon resulting in a 1 Hit KO

BirdKeeper:
Airforce - all flying type attacks recieve bonus damage.

Above the Clouds - all flying pokemon are unaffected by gas or air-based moves (smokescreeen, poison gas, smog)

Stealth Bomber - When it is night, 2-turn flying moves such as Fly do not miss, all other flying type attacks have 20% boosted accuracy

No-Fly Zone -Using Fly indoors costs 2pp instead of 1, using Fly inside a cave will cause the pokemon to crash into the ceiling dealing damage and cancelling the attack.

Turbulence - If an opponent uses moves such as gust while the player's pokemon is using Fly, there is a 50% chance that player's pokemon will crash and take damage, cancelling the move.

Bad Skys - weather conditions (rainy day, sunny day) decrease power of flying type attacks to .75x instead of 1x before applying STAB bonus

Clipped Wings - moves such as slash, Cut, and Fury Cutter have a 50% chance to 'clip the wings' of a players flying type, the pokemon can no longer use Fly or other 2 - turn attacks for the duration of the battle

Psychic:
Bender of Spoons - all psychic type attacks recieve bonus damage

The Cult of Mr. Psychic - player has exclusive access to purchase the Psychic TM from the GoldenRod Store

Focused - Psychic pokemon resist tricks of the mind such as double-team, preventing opponents from raising their evasiveness.

Mental Shield - Psychic pokemon resist confusion by 50% and shorten confusion by one turn. All other pokemon in party have a 20% resistance to being confused

ABRA CADABRA! - wild abra cannot teleport away from battle, however wild abra encounter rates are decreased by 50%, players also cannot purchase an Abra from the casino.

ADHD - If a psychic pokemon becomes confused, the Focused buff and Bender of Spoons buff is removed and all psychic attacks suffer a 25% damage reduction until they are no longer confused

Battle of Will - when battling other psychic pokemon, the confused buff is removed and both psychic pokemon have a 25% chance of inflicting confusion. Whoever confuses the other first gains a boost of 10% damage and deactivates Battle of Will. The confused pokemon then receives the ADHD debuff

Hiker:
Down to Earth - all rock and ground type attacks recieve bonus damage

Grounded - rock pokemon are now immune to electric attacks

Flight Delayed - When a Rock/ground type appears in battle, all flying types are now considered "grounded" and can be hit with ground type attacks dealing .5x damage

Tough Stuff - The higher the defense of a Rock/ground type is, the stronger their attacks are

Slippery Slope - when a rock/ground type receives water damage the pokemon becomes "muddy" increasing speed by 50% but lowering accuracy by 30%, also applies when rainy day or water sport is used

The Harder of the Two - When faced with another rock/ground type, each attack has a 50% chance to either increase the damage by 1% or decrease by 1%, when both reach 5% (one increased one decreased) the one with the increase will receive a 50% attack boost while the other receives a 50% defense reduction.

Swimmer:
Typhoon - all water type attacks receive bonus damage

Marine Biologist - pokemon found in water or through fishing have a higher catch rate by 20%

Damp - Water types have a 50% resistance to being burned and the burn status removes naturally in battle (like confusion and sleep), all other pokemon in the party gain a 10% resistance to burn.

Dehydrated - when on land, water type moves have a 20% chance to use 2pp instead of 1, for every 1000 steps without surfing water types lose 20 hp, also water pokemon are more prone to grass based status moves(poison gas, stunspore). THIS DEBUFF IS RESET IF A WATER POKEMON IS HIT BY A WATER TYPE ATTACK ON LAND.

As long as the player chooses not to evolve the Magikarp after lvl 20, the Magikarp gains an extra 1% stat boost that stacks per level, if evolved the pokemon will no longer receive any boost.

Live Bait - If a first form bug pokemon is in the party(weedle, caterpie venonat) and the Fisherman goes fishing, the rod is treated as a super rod. The pokemon caught by the rod will have a 100% catch rate WHEN IT IS WEAKENED or receives a status ailment, if the pokemon is caught, the bug pokemon is released from party and swapped with the caught pokemon, if the pokemon is defeated, the bug pokemon remains in the party, if the pokemon escapes or the player runs, the bug pokemon is released from the party with no gain.

Legendary Classes and Up cannot interact with lower classes in anyway!

LEGENDARY CLASSES! (unlocked by completing the game with a class other than trainer)

Leader: player can either choose a pokemon from a set list or recieve one from random:
pidgey
pikachu
machamp
gastly
abra(that knows confusion)
dratini
scytheronix
aron
random fire starter
random water starter
random grass starter
miltank
poochyena
nidoran(male or female)
snorunt

after recieving that pokemon, the player is restricted to only raising pokemon that hold the type this includes all double-types

Their pokemon receive 25% extra STAB damage and their starter receive boosted exp and 10% boosted stats

Disadvantages: restricted to type

Rocket Rogue: all poison and normal types receive 20% extra damage and 10% boost to stats and exp gained
Disadvantages: restricted to type

ULTIMATE CLASS! (MUST do a playthrough as one of the legendary classes)

Rival: you are the rival, your starter pokemon has an advantage over the players pokemon, your catching rate for all pokemon improve by 30% and exp is boosted for all pokemon by 5%
Disadvantages: you have a permanent 15% stat reduction for all pokemon you own, all pokemon evolve 5 levels later and all healing items only heal 75% of what they should, you also receive 5% more damage and blacking out takes 10% of your money away from you.

GOD CLASS( MUST DO A PLAYTHROUGH OF RIVAL CLASS AND DEFEAT RED)

Red: You are the pokemon champ, you are the one master of pokemon, all pokemon you encounter revere you, your catch rates are 100% and your pokemon level up 75% faster, you also have 50% boosted stats for all pokemon, and have a 50% chance for 1 hit KO's
Disadvantages: THE WORLD IS YOUR RIVAL All opponent pokemon are raised 10 levels and have 25% increased stats, any pokemon of yours that faint are released and lost permanently, you also lose one spot in your party permanently decreasing the total amount of pokemon you can have. if you black out you lose your buff altogether, are returned to the Trainer default class but everything else stays the same.

the ultimate goal: to beat yourself. Red will have your exact party but all at LVL 100

FINAL CLASSES(MUST DO PLAYTHROUGH AS RED)

Professor Oak: you are everything pokemon, you have unlimited items and your catch rates are always, your job is to capture all pokemon ever, your pokemon do 1Hit KO's
Disadvantages: none

PIKACHU!: YOU ARE PIKACHU you must level yourself up and survive your travel through the world fainting is not an option. since you are the pikachu you have unlocked your true potential and have 75% raised stats and 50% boosted EXP, you have the ability to use HM's as long as you have them in your pack
Disadvantages: you are the pokemon. dont faint or it's game over

Ermh... I'll read this.... Sooner or later... O_O You really must have put a lot of thought about this...

Bug Catcher
I really like it actually, I read through the advantages and disadvantages, and it sounds fair enough. It looks like a lot of work to put in there, but I am all for the idea of trainer classes and perks. It only makes sense seeing as there is a ton of classes in the game. I mean...seriously. Did Ninetendo and gamefreak have some hidden base where trainers are handed out their occupations and told to sit in an area and harass people walking by?

Forgot pokemaniacs and breeders(where would we be without breeders). its really cool except thats a LOT to implement. It would be nice if we could select different sprites from the beginning, never understood why it was so limited.
If they could somehow do mod this into coop you could be a trainer and someone else be your rival and different people could battle to be gym leaders based on the various classes.

i spent about two hours writing this up, it was to the point that i just wanted to get this posted and add later. tomorrow i'll add a couple more classes to better complete it. i was considering a breeding class but let me touch all the types first. one other idea that floated in my head was a class that focused on baby pokemon and them knowing hyperbeam, it made me lol
