It has been and, based on everything I've seen so far, will always be Gyarados. Since the moment I first saw pokemon back in 95', I've always thought Gyarados was the most awesome pokemon ever. I've had one in every generation that's allowed it legitimately.

What I've always thought was odd was that, up until recently, maybe Ruby/Sapphire onwards, Gyarados was Water/Dragon. Now it's Water/Flying...
My guess is over the generations, they started finding dragon types unattractive, and started mating with birds.. Hence the flying type!

Actually it was because Water/Dragon would make Electric and Grass types not be super effective against it, so it was changed to Water/Flying to make it balanced.

I hope you know it was a joke?

I knew that it was. I was also stating why it was actually done because I had the information. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

True, but Gyarados is supposed to be more of a Water type than a Dragon type.

Gyarados is meant to resemble a sea serpent from ancient mythology. Although the sea serpent is a dragon, I believe Nintendo didn't want a sole pokemon to be weak to only one type.

My favorite pokemon is Lucario, and to prove my devotion, here is my trainer card and overworld sprite I use for my character.

I think Cyndaquil is the best of the best. I love him because he's cute, lazy, and actually pretty strong.
