Load Floors of the Lighthouse Separately To Reduce Lag

I suffer massive lag while in the lighthouse.(Going from 30fps outside to 2 fps inside). It's so bad that I have to keep pressing [esc] to get the quit menu to load. Would it be possible to load each floor of the lighthouse separately so that people with fast computers can see them as offset maps while people with slow computers are still able to progress through the lighthouse with reasonable ease?

I dont have this problem, Plus I like being able to see down the holes and going up stairs and having to load the map each time seems a bit annoying , But I could be wrong ,I remember in maps you can see into the next map so maybe this wouldn't be a problem, Plus it doesnt really take that long to load, I don't mind either way because it works perfectly for me

I had it set up to have them all as offsets :)
I gained about 20 fps by having them seperated
but for some reason nilllzz got less fps when seperate
would some people mind tesing the fps in the split version to see how good it is?
Un zip the contents of this folder into your pokemon folder and the files shouls all fall into place
before trying this please save in olivine to ensure it doesn't break your save file
If you want to revert back just download the game again

Ill try it out for you :p

Edit: Hmmm I found it to be more laggy, It was 60 FPS but would go down to 15-20 regularly
and 10 FPS for a short time going up and down floors

hrm.....I wonder what the difference between loading offsets and loading a whole map makes and where it loads from and stuff.....
until then Malcolm Reynolds can use the map i posted to see if he gets an FPS gain

I go from 2 fps to 50-60 fps after the change. I do not experience the FPS drop when going up the stairs when I have offset maps disabled although there is a small delay as the map is loaded(at least the first time, it seems to be cached in ram after that). I do however get stuck if I go up the first set of stairs and then go right.

Edit: Having offset maps enabled or disabled does not seem to affect the loading speed between floors which, even on my computer, is only a fraction of a second.

okay so it wasn't just me....:)
I can actually load the offsets for the tower and still pull good fps
could you try that?

In a particular position I choose, my fps for offset map settings are as follows:

No Offset Map: 52 fps
Offset Map Quality 1: 25 fps
Offset Map Quality 20: 25 fps
Offset Map Quality 40: 25 fps
Offset Map Quality 60: 25 fps
Offset Map Quality 80: 25 fps
Offset Map Quality 99: 19 fps
Offset Map Quality 100: 13 fps

Edit: So the game went to about 0 fps at Quality=100 when I actually went up the stairs but it's completely playable(31 fps where I'm currently standing and looking) at Quality=20.

At Quality=20, there is a temporary frame drop when going up and down the stairs.

So minus a few spots where the player gets stuck and can no longer move and the fact that you can't actually leave the lighthouse, this works perfectly.

25 is still pretty good :)
I really want to know why there is so much of a difference......

I get huge lag for some reason in big cities and going through the lighthouse was a huge task. I probably would have preferred if maps were separate.

More people get good fps when the maps are togeather so the lighthouse won't be broken up anytime soon

How about an option to have the maps be together or not? You can choose it in the options menu, restart the game, and it'd have fused/non-fused maps. Both sides win (unless this'd double the work?).
