hey man say to your mom to buy one;)
i've done that and i have a core i5 with 3.5ghz
thats a good choice
My parents aren't doing very well either right now. If I really ended up trying to build on a budget, I'd probably do a $300 build using a A10 6800K and an old mechanical(probably white alps) keyboard from goodwill. I'm not actually sure how much Pokemon3D relies on cpu vs gpu though. Thanks for letting me know it's just by design and not a bug though. You guys are extremely helpful.
well so good luck to you man

No worries, I appreciate you posting your specs so I can get a good idea of what's required for Pokemon 3D to run without lag.

I'm assuming you have an i5 3360M then, since that's the only mobile i5 in the core family that advertises anything about 3.5 ghz(Runs at 3.5 ghz if it disables all but one core). That would make sense though, since you would have a cpu with 2 physical cores and 2 logical cores that runs at 2.8 ghz when all cores are active and has Intel HD 4000 graphics which is currently Intel's best integrated graphics option and is capable of competing with low end dedicated gpus.

My laptop has 2 physical cores and no logical cores that run at a maximum of 2.2 ghz(it can't dynamically disable cores to increase the cpu multiplier). It's integrated graphics are also from before the Intel vs AMD war for the best integrated graphics began, so my laptop can't even play 1080p video with any decent bitrate without dropping most of the frames.

Anyways, I really appreciate your help. I now have a pretty good idea about the minimum requirements for playing the game without lag and that the massive variance in fps per area is by design not a bug.

I don't have this problem but my laptop can play skyrim so its expected, Still the game isn't that big, Try reducing the POV in the settings and don't set the graphics to fancy lol

This was actually done at the absolute minimum settings. Also, for some reason, fancy gives me higher fps than fast.
