Solved Red/Blue Version?

Hi new user here I just downloaded the game it's awesome! This might be a dumb question but I saw a gameplay video on youtube and their starter pokemon were charmander/bulbasaur/squirtle from red/blue version, but when I played my starters were from gold/silver. I also noticed there is 2 sets of badges in the trainer card menu. Is it a different game mode or something?

In the first ~17 versions the starters were the gen 1 starters
The gym badges are because you will goto kanto eventually just like in g/s/c/hg/ss
A r/b/g/y/fr/lg mode has not been made yet but i am sure someone will get to it eventually
probably once the main game reaches kanto

Ok cool I never actually completed gold version when I played the original so I didn't know about the badges. A red/blue version mode would be awesome! Gen 1 was always always my favorite and always will be, it brings me right back to middle school.

I played gen 1 when it was in fire red/ leaf green. The black and white colours of red/blue hurt my eyes xD

First game I played was yellow.
I LOVED IT!
The coulours changed with every city and Pikachu was walking behind you.
