I'm creating this thread for the sharing of Shiny Pokémon encounters and captures. Only rules being cheating (GameShark, Action Replay, etc.) doesn't count, and I don't count the Red Gyarados from Generation II or HeartGold and SoulSilver either, since it's a part of the story. So here goes mine:
Shiny Kakuna (Pokémon Silver Version):
It was during my "Gotta catch 'em all" spree and I was being impatient. Having already caught all 250 (couldn't get Celebi) on my Pokémon Gold, I wished to transfer them to my Silver using Pokémon Stadium 2. However, I needed 150 Pokémon caught in Silver before the transfer could be complete, so I went on capturing. I entered the Bug Catching Contest because I required a Pinsir and a Scyther in my Pokédex. To speed things up, I played on the Dodrito GB Tower on Pokémon Stadium 2, and played in triple speed (NOTE: The colors vanish when playing in any other speed other than normal.) After a few wild encounters (none being of my value), I was locked in a "Run Away Loop" that occurred for the next 10 encounters. On the 11th encounter, just as I was pressing Run, I saw a slight twinkle. Being suspicious, I re-entered normal speed to spot a shiny Kakuna before me. I knew I had to capture it. First Sport Ball missed, and since I was running low on them, I knew I had to weaken it. Luckily my Farfetch'd knows False Swipe, and it easily chopped at its HP. After going red, I threw the ball, capturing it. Afterwards, I saved 4 times, to make sure it remained on my game. After I eventually caught all 250 possible Pokémon on Silver, I evolved the Kakuna into a shiny Beedrill, and forever placed it in a box in Pokémon Stadium 2. That way, no matter if a corruption impacts my Silver version, I'll still have my awesome Beedrill.
Shiny Tauros (Pokémon HeartGold Version):
I was in the process of hatching my eggs in the Safari Zone (I have no idea why I was there), and I ran into a shiny Tauros, not long before entering the area. I knew that it would be awesome to have, so I tried to capture it. Sadly, all I had was Safari Balls, and we all know they are not of good quality. After 3 capture attempts, the Tauros fled, never to be seen again.
Shiny Onix (Pokémon HeartGold Version):
I was trying to level up my Pichu for evolution (because levels = friendship) in Mt. Silver, a prominent training grounds. After about an hour of grinding (it took so long for Pichu to evolve), a shiny Onix appeared. A golden shade made this Pokémon a must-have. Surprisingly, one Ultra Ball at full health was enough to capture the rock snake. After capturing it and finishing that game, I was in the process of migrating all of my Pokémon to Pokémon White Version. On the way there, the Onix became a shiny Steelix, and looked even more awesome. Later she (yes it was a female) was transferred to Pokémon White 2, where she helped me win the Champion Cup at the PWT. She currently sits in my main party in that game.
Shiny Probopass (Pokémon White Version):I'm reluctant to add this guy, because I got him over the global terminal... Anywho, I was so close (Caught 643 Pokémon at the time) to completing the Pokédex, just missing the Nosepass family. I decided that breeding from its evolution, Probopass, would be easier. I left a Mewtwo at the Global Terminal (I had like 3) specifying for any Probopass. A week later, I got a result: A shiny, PokéRus infected, level 9 Probopass. I knew it was cheated in, but I didn't cheat to receive it, so technically it doesn't break my rules.
Well, those are all of my shiny encounters. Have you seen any legit shiny Pokémon? Post stories below!
