Learning Moves

This isn't about the " lack of notification" problem but more like

"I caught a pidgey at lvl4 and its moveset was tackle. Now it's level 9 and it should know sand-attack and gust by now, but its only limited to tackle."

There are no other moves than Tackle, Growl, Ember and Fire Punch. More moves will be added in future Updates.

Ahhhhh okay. Would you suggest that I make a separate file so that the new patches apply once the moves get updated (which I'm completely okay with) or will the pokemon within the game who don't have the moves just get updated themselves?

I don't think your Pokemon will change when you update your game. It would be best to start a new game if there's an update but you can also change the abilitys and moves in any text editor (the file you need to open is called "Party.dat" located in \Pokemon\Save\Playername\Party.dat ...)

Actually if this is too much to ask then its completely fine. While I am kinda sad that I can't use Red or Blue's skin as the MC, I do get it because the game is basically GSC series. Anyways thank you very much for the help JojoP

save files are all plaintext, yheyre the .dat files in /pokemon/saves/charactername/ party.dat holds your party pokemon, box.dat for bill's pc'd pokemon. you will need the move's id number, i don't know where you find that for moves. pokemon and moves is something that's gunna be a focus soon, so don't worry, your pidgey should be able to know sand attack in the coming weeks

a big problem is the data for pokemon and moves take time to put in, and when you're making a bunch of things work sometimes you just don't get around to it. but now the lack of pokemon is becoming a problem because new areas need the right pokemon. the community has taken some pretty big steps to assist nilllzz in getting the content for them together in a format his game can just use, but the rest is going to take some time. its unfortunate and i'm sorry you can't just play this like a pokemon game yet.
