Fast Travel?

there's a move called fly outside of battle its a fast travel

Is there? I haven't come across it
I still think some form of fast travel to the cities previously visited would make so much more of a difference. Instead of having to walk back to a city that takes an hour to get to because of so many wild Pokemon turning up and just the sheer distance of it, a fast travel option would make it so much more easier.

its not in the game yet i think.

Ah well, I can see your point. Will we eventually have some minigames, though? I can see that you'd want Johto and possibly Kanto done first, so I'm content to wait

i dont know, im not particularly keen on them so i won't be doing anything with it any time soon you'd have to ask nils

The move HM02 Fly is obtained after you get the 5th badge from a town called Cianwood City. It is located outside the gym; there will be a lady and she will give it to you. After that, you teach it to a flying type and then you can fast travel.

For the time being, just use repels you can buy at the shops. We just have to wait till its updated into the game. It might be some time until we get Fly.

I've been finding it really tedious to walk to a city that is two cities over and I would really like some kind of fast travel to the cities?

There are a lot of things implemented in the games map that make getting to places easier.
If you take route 29 for example (the first route in the game) you'll notice theres a lot of ledges and CUT trees that bypass the grass completly and get you back to New Bark Town.

The Sudoowoodo allows quick access between violet town and Goldenrod City.

also, you can get a bike(when it's implemented) in Goldenrod City

also, and i'll need DracoHouston to confirm, if you use cut while facing grass, you cut away an entire block (2x2) of grass, so use what you have

I thought that was only in the old games, like Red & Blue. Maybe up to Gold/Silver, but the newer ones didnt...oh wait! The Hoenn ones did, I think (they had something with cut...).

In Hoenn you could cut down the big jungle grass in the, erm... jungle

correct, and if you used cut again it would clear that area
