Stat decreasing more than expected?

It seems like when a pokemon uses a stat decreasing move like tail whip and sand attack, it decreases my pokemons stats a lot more than expected. For example, I just battled a level 7 pidgey with my level 16 ledyba. The pidgey used sand attack, and each time I tried to attack I missed. The pidgey used sand attack about 4 or 5 times and I missed each turn afterward. When the pidgey stopped using sand attack and regularly attacked me, I was still missing every shot. Is this normal or a bug?

Edit: It also seems my ledyba is missing every attack in battles following that one.. against kakunas. Is that just me and my badluck or is something fishy?

Which attack are you using? Just wondering if the base chance to hit is also low. To tell the truth I have felt this "something fishy" with sand attack aswell. I mean that I get suspiciously often a missed hit after only one sand attack even when using attack with 100% base chance to hit. Could also be that the AI "luck" sticks to the eye more than unluck causing suspicion.

I was trying to use comet punch, supersonic and tackle, when I missed with one I tried with the other

Okies. After taking a quick look at the wiki the flat chances to hit should be comet punch 85%, supersonic only 55%, tackle 100%. From here on we need someone who knows how those attacks works in Pokemon 3D. Spending more time in Bulpapedia and doing the math the chaces should be:
After one sand attack:
Tackle 3 out of 4 hits
Supersonic ~41% chance to hit (~4 out of 10)
Comet punch ~63% chance to hit (~6 out of 10)
After two sand attacks:
Tackle 6 out of 10 hits
Supersonic ~33% chance to hit (~1 out of 3)
Comet punch ~51% chance to hit (~1 out of 2)
After three sand attacks:
Tackle 1 out of 2 hits
Supersonic ~28% chance to hit (~1 out of 4)
Comet punch ~43% chance to hit (~4 out of 10)
After four sand attacks:
Tackle ~43% chance to hit (~4 out of 10)
Supersonic ~23% chance to hit (~1 out of 4)
Comet punch ~37% chance to hit (~2 out of 5)

EDIT: not sure if they works in pokemon 3D as stated in Bulpapedia though.

Looks pretty cruel to me >_> esspecially the supersonic. Still suspicious?
Since the tackle is the only one able to hit at 100% base accuracy it wouldn't be unusual to miss with the others in the second battle aswell.

yea that all seems to make sense lol, my thought is that because the game is still developing and not all the programming is perfect, some little tweaks like over powered sand attack may happen once in a blue moon but looking at the bulbapedia stats, it makes sense that I was missing so many of my hits. Thanks a bunch :D

ah, no problem. Was good to do the math since I had been a bit suspicious myself aswell.

EDIT: just as a tip, it seems that rising evasion is slightly more effective than reducing chance to hit ;)
