cant catch a ditto what should i do i'm stucked

im stucked in goldenrod city trying to catch a ditto but i cant, been hypnotized, paralized and confused the pokemon but it aint working. could you guys help me? does a type of pokeball is necessary?

Dittos have a low catch rate just as in the normal games, you don't need a specific pokeball to catch them, just luck.

start with a weak pokemon and continue with someone who can stand against the attacks of the first one very well. like, throw in someone with just tackle and go for ghastly as the second choice as normal type attacks (tackle) won't have any effect on ghosts. that way you will have as many retrys as you like and ghastly even has hypnosis. ah btw, ghastly is a good choice against abra aswell since he is good at rivaling abras speed.

I've been playing Pokemon for 15 years now and I've never had as much trouble catching a Ditto as I did in this game. I used my Spinarak because I knew Night Shade would get it down enough and then switched to Hoothoot to hypnotize it. 13 Pokeballs gone... All it took was one Great Ball.

A love ball is a pokeball which have higher catch rate on the opposite sex of your pokemon.

I've catched my Ditto with a Ulta ball when he had 1-2 hp left. Pretty lucky that I didn't kill it. I think you should try to drown as much health of him before trying to catch him. It also helps if the pokemon you want to catch is sleeping.
