NPC following you and joining you in battle

I've noticed while playing through the official games. where how a NPC would fight with you in a Double Battle(which i would assume Double Battles would come much later.) and Follow you in your quest on whatever it would be in the game.

I thought about it and it would go nicely in the Vanilla Poke3D

I think I suggested something like this, like a companion or follower? People seemed to like it, but not for the main game...
