Since this is looking to be a game that will be constantly evolving I thought having a personal island or house might be something worth implementing.

Uses for the island/house:

1. You will be able to store items in wardrobes/chests/etc.
2. You will be able to let your Pokemon roam that you do not have in your party.
3. You can rest/heal your Pokemon
4. You can decorate and personalize your own place (Gives something to do between updates)
5. You can plant berries/apricorns and have your own garden area.
6. You can bond with your Pokemon (Togepi and other Pokemon like that)
7. You can fish on the shore of your island to catch new Pokemon
8. Allows you to change person or avatar to any of the trainer characters you've beaten

How to get the house and how to get to the house:

To obtain the house/island you need to find the housing agent in Golden Rod city and buy it from them for a certain amount of Pokedollars.

Getting to the house/island will require flying to the city/island in which the house is located.

Items you can place:

1. Jukebox - Allows you to play any music from any Pokemon game.
2. Bed - Resting place that will allow you to heal your party
3. Table - Somewhat of a display case were you can place items that you are proud of.
4. PC - Can change Pokemon in party and can store Pokemon
5. Potted Plant - Decoration
6. Trash Bin - Permanently discard items you don't want
7. Wardrobe - Holds all of the clothes or avatars of the trainers you've meet.
8. Mirror - Lets you look at yourself
9. Boombox - Same as Jukebox but looks different
10. Alarm Clock - Allows you to set an alarm for certain times of the day.
11. Wall Clock - Shows in-game time
12. Bed - Allows you to sleep till night, day or noon time.
13. Water Bed - Allows you to sleep till night, day or noon time.
14. Safe - Allows you to deposit money for safe keeping. Also allows you to put a pass on it.
15. Piggy Bank - Allows you to deposit money for safe keeping.
16. Picture Frame - Allows you to upload a picture or take an in-game picture and display it.
17. Desk - A place for objects to be placed.
18. Journal - Another way to save your game. Acts like a quick save.
19. Diary - For those that want to jot down stuff to remember or for others to log adventures.
20. Pokemon Plushies - Stuffed Pokemon toys bought from the Golden Rod Department store.

Item Prices:

1. Bed - 3,000 Pokedollars - Goldenrod Department Store
2. Desk - 2,000 Pokedollars - Goldenrod Department store
3. Safe - 1,500 Pokedollars - Goldenrod Department store

I think this is a great idea! I would love to see it in the game because it will give you something fun to do when you're waiting for a new update.

In the actual game there will be secret bases, I don't think that both ideasare compatible

I like your idea, my only concern is:
1. Jukebox - Allows you to play any music from any Pokemon game.
I actually have most pokemon game soundtracks on my computer as MP3 which totals about 4GB.
XNA games like Pokemon 3D use WMA files, and looking at the songs that I have already converted, I would estimate adding every song to the game would be between 2 and 3 GB.

Hmmmm... that's a lot of music. Well, we'll stick with current in-game music then.

I really like the idea of having a player's "personal home" or base in the game. An Island off the coast of Golden Rod City will be fine since that area is all ocean and Whirl Islands. I would love to have my own little island just as described above. Plus, when playing co-op, it's another place to hang out together. A small island, i think, would look a lot better to have for fishing and resting pokemon and what not.

I agree, living in a tree/cave would be strange. Add a place where your pokémons (from 2 to 4) can train, your Pokémons will get 0,5 XP for 1 step, but they won't make an egg and will be free.

I like the idea as well. It would be nice if your Pokemon interacted with each other and the trainer as well while their there. Much like on "hey you pikachu"(really old game xD) different Pokemon use different ways of interacting as well. Depending on type would be neat. For instances. in a game of tag. Electric would shock you(like on hey you pikachu) Fighting types would just hit you,Bug types would do something bug relate(idk...) Fire types would burn you with fire, Water would hit you with water attacks,Ghost types would possess things, ice types would freeze ya, psych would hold you still, Normal and dark would be much the same as fighting and just hit you. and.... idk about steel ground and rock. I guess they would be the hitting types as well. Same for dragon.

*here a list of suggested items and features)
  • Maybe a mirror that can reflect the character and pokemon following behind.
  • Berry bender
  • stove(for cooking berrys another thing that boost certain things of pokemon)
  • fridge cause everyone needs a place to put drinks, potions and berrys in beside their bag and box.
  • Fruit basket (decor)
  • Custom picture of two different types(decor and uploaded from a picture file.). One wall and the other can set on a table.
  • Certain generators to power your house/island such as water generators, solar and wind. Also putting out a income of certain extra amounts of money to help you on your journey. Each month But only once maybe twice a month. (Much like how the real world is when it comes to energy use. people would pay for your extra energy.)
  • Your own personal dock.(for fishing and docking boats)
  • Boats(just to have fun with)
  • Tree. Ranging from the one in the game currently to banana and other fruit trees. (maybe something to get items from later if people decide it and maybe for pokemons to climb)
  • Hammock(for those who want to heal outside.)
  • Waterbed(different bed same thing)
  • Chair and cushions.
  • Boombox(same thing as the jukebox. Different look tho)
  • Radio(does the same thing as the boom and jukebox)
  • Alarm clock(you can set this)
  • Wall clock(it hangs on the wall)
  • Special types of Ores
  • Safe(like how gold mom kept his money but it out your place.)
  • Shower and bathtube(clean your pokemon. Much like the hairdresser.)
  • Stuff pokemons and or animals
  • Journal with a option of locking and unlocking it(You can type what ever you want in it.)
  • Diving spot(use dive to go look for under water treasure ((needs to be random spots and random each day)))
  • Add in certain type items and decor and do the same for certain types of pokemon.Maybe certain holiday decors.
  • World map
And that all I got.

Edit: we could just work on another goldenrod city map mod and add in the stuff. The housing items could be a separate thing This way the main people that are working on the game doesn't have to worry about it. Leaving us to work on this. I wouldn't mind working on it.

I made a basic deluxe verison of goldenrod city...Well it more of a addition of some doors on buildings that wasnt there befor.^^. It not complete but there is signs that basically has the housing agent location and more. You can mess around with it if you like. I was going to add alot more. I kind of using it as a testmap at the moment. :p I might add streetlamps(If I can make them xD) But we could add more maps to every building (minus the ones that was there originally )Streetlamps might be a little hard to make. But I think I can make them using the radio tower as a texture base. Tho they aren't going to be much use unless someone adds some type of light script or something.

I like your ideas for the island and I'll update the list here soon. Hopefully they add this idea but it'll be a lot of work.
