I like this idea, but I think the items should be random when they respawn (The original items would always start the same), and is possibly appear in different parts of the route, to help deter farming a little.
You make a point.. But then It would be a bit odd to constantly search for item hot spots..
I guess the question I have is :
To farm or Not to farm? That is the question!
Whether Tis nobler to find items on the road, a rare gift from a negligent traveler; Or, to wander the beach for hopes that the sea will yield up some treasure, We can both agree on this idea: to have an outlet for items not bought in stores.
--My apologies in advanced for making this.. It started out so innocent..
--Would we consider it farming? I am wondering what would the outcomes be..
If people could "farm": we could limit the roll over time for new items to spawn in.
If items were lost "everywhere": would we have to select special areas for them to be found?
What are the limits of both these ideas?
The reaction of the player itself is also considered: people who occasionally hunt for treasure vs those who are hoarders (like myself who have a tendency to use the item finder when I miss even 1 hidden item).
Or perhaps I am over thinking this..
