Lower Critical Hit Ratio

I was grinding for levels in Route 29 with my Level 8 Pidgey. Every time I tried to catch a new Pokemon with it, on the first turn of me attacking, I would ALWAYS get a critical hit, ending up in knocking out the soon to be captured Pokemon. If you guys would lower the critical hit ratio a little, that would be great.
