The game got stuck while loading.
Not even re-installing will help.

What I expected to happen:
I expected the game to start normally

What actually happened:
As I said above.

Steps to reproduce:
1. The only thing that was different from usual, is that the data was extracted from the .zip-file.

Try deleting all traces of the game and downloading again, this time being patient while the download takes place.

If your game is unable to load, then the only thing that should be around is the launcher and partially loaded content files. Those are what should be gotten rid of.
Keeping your save on a flash drive is probably not the best idea.

Because the safe would break or the game itself? Or is it something entirely different?

The game's save folder is tied with the rest of the game's content. You could put your save on a flash drive, though every time you'd want to use it you'd have to drag it to the Saves folder.

Couldn't I just replace it with the other one?
EDIT: I tried it again. It's still not working.

When you download the game, it doesn't come with a save, those are generated when you start a new offline save in-game.

but the game still won't work for me, despite the save not being on my PC anymore.

So what exactly happens? When you try to download the latest version through the launcher it just stops halfway?

No, it downloads the game perfectly fine, but when I try to start it, the game freezes at the first logo.

Does it enter a Not Responding state? If the first logo lasts longer than a minute then something is definitely wrong. Are you sure you have all of the game requirements downloaded?

Yes that's exactly what happens.
I know I have one of the requirements for sure,
but I don't know if I have the other one.
Could you list them for me?
