Basically, I think in the future there should be an option in the menu to choose Classic or Enhanced mode.

Classic would have stuff like diagonal movement off, achievements off etc

Enhanced would bring you to a menu where you can choose each of the improvements to have on.

it would be like an addon list... it could work really well. Almost every suggestion could fit in a game like that. You kinda "do" the game you wanna play

couldn't there just be an option for diagonal movement and another to turn off achievement toasts? wouldn't need a whole new game mode

Well if those are going to be the ONLY two modern things then sure. But all these suggestions that people keep bringing, I'm sure he might pick one of those ;)

they are not the only ones, some has been acepted but no implemented yet. Maybe he could make one mode with a lot of inovations and one tottaly like the original one.

I would rather keep innovations completely optional. Kind of like switching between original GSC/HGSS sound.

It's not like the "innovations" are big enough to turn the game upside down anyway. For now. :)

so far this is pretty much all thats not in another pokemon game already: diagonal movement, playing from a different perspective, coop. once coop is in it'll be the big innovation this game has, but you don't have to use it either. diagonal movement is clearly going to be an option when its working well enough, theres a field for it just no ingame ui to turn it on.

the other thing this has over the original pokemon is how easily you can make custom maps, another thing people can opt out of.

oh god the camera angles on 3rd person are bad. as far as i can tell the camera is stuck at an offset behind the character, so looking up and down looks up and down at the ground at the camera's feet instead of orbiting around the player :( it looks like a bandaid solution until he puts a better one in. 3rd person camera as a pain in the arse to get looking perfect though
