It just happened to me a few minutes ago, there is a small chance of it happening.
Basically, when playing the game in fullscreen mode there is a chance of the
game crashing when you are forced into a random battle in tall grass.

For me, the high pitch battle intro tune loops, the screen was white (as the animation was white blocks filling in the screen) except for a bar that was roughly 50 pixels wide and stretched from top to bottom.

Alt+Tab wouldn't work, I had to force task manager to come up to close the game manually.

Yup, when the white blocks fill the screen. It just happened again.

I hope that this is fixed now.
When the new update comes out, you have to test it and confirm, that it works then
