Fixed Pokedex glitch

If you had talked to oak in .16 it said you received the pokedex, but the pokedex was not implemented until 0.17, when I updated and logged in, I did not have the Pokedex.
So does this mean we have to restart the game in order to receive the pokedex? Or is this just a bug?

I haven't tested this yet but you should be able to add it by editing to your player.dat file. I suggest you make a backup of your save game first, just in case.
Anyway the file can be found in Pokemon\Save\{yourname}\Player.dat and can be edited with notepad or another text editor. Look for a line that says "hasPokedex|0" and change it to "hasPokedex|1".

Hope this helps and let me know if it works. I might try it myself later and will edit this post if I learn something new.

Edit: Tried it and it works. I now have a Pokedex.

Also in .17 the pokedex doesn't show up anywhere once your receive it. I don't know if you really do receive it since it is not in the inventory and it doesn't appear in the menu options. BUT I do get a picture shown of the pokemon I just caught after I caught it. Don't know if that's the Pokedex though since there's no text that follows

Maybe you can fix it by following the instructions in my previous post. After I did that it worked for me:

I can't get this to open in Wordpad, or any program, really. It wants to try to open in adobe, but that doesn't work. Not sure what to do about this from here, but uninstalling the game completely, reinstalling it, upgrading to 0.17, starting a new game and getting to Mr. Pokemon's did not get me a Pokedex. Don't know how to fix this. =/

Right Click the .dat file then Open With and then find Notepad.

Worst comes worst, drag the file onto Notepad.exe
