Pokemon we can get only by the GTS ?

I wonder if we can get Charmander, Bulbasaur, Tyrunt and others by another way than looking for them in the GTS ..?
And if we can't, how do the other players get them ? Are there some special events where you can receive some rare eggs ?

There were some events way back where people could win starters, which they would then breed & trade with others, but more than likely, most of the starters you find on the gts nowadays are no longer legit obtained.

Ok, thanks ! And now i found someone who could give me lots of rare Pokemon, so i won't have to check GTS all the time ^^
