Error upon launch

When attempting to to launch the game from the launcher, I receive the following error message:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click
Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If
you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

The specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform

Attempting to launch the plain game files results in a "This program is not a valid Win32 application".
