NEED HELP song error fix with no windows media player on XP

i want to play this awesome game but it gives me a song error when i start it up. i dont have windows media player on my computer and im running XP. anyone know a around this song error? would suck if it was because of a song i couldnt play this game. can you just delete the file from the folder on comp and it would work? lol i just wanna play it....

There is your problem, you need windows media player in order to play the songs in the game, so if you really don't have it on your pc you'll have to download it. Heres a link for the download.

Why should it be required though? I find that kind of silly. I run the game and I check Task Manager and there appears to be no instances of Windows Media Player running.

Windows Media Player itself doesn't need to be running to play the game, it just has to be installed on the machine. I don't know exactly why it is required, but i know there is a thread somewhere here that explains it. I think it has something to do with XNA Framework requiring some kind of function incorporated into WMP, but that's all i know.

XNA Framework uses some of the dll files that are installed by WMP that u cannot get trough other means.

I tried running pokemon 3d with the dll files in the same folder as the game and without WMP installed and it does not work. My guess is because it uses WMP (registery entry) as a reference to look for the dll files.

I tried still cannot find the appropriate dll files even if they are registered that way :/
