Sound xnb files???

sooo. I'm making a content pack and i'm trying to create new sound files. I examined the xnb files corresponding to the wma files and it seems that the only difference between all of them (besides the citation to the file name) is the last two characters. I got the wma file from my friend (who writes music) and I can't seem to get the last two characters to make the file work. If it'll be easier I can upload the file. Thanks for your help in advance.

You can use wav files for sound. It is not needed to be converted to xnb

I tried. Is there like a "length law" when it comes to songs? this one is around 1:30

There isn't any length law.
