This would be a fantastic addition to the game, although it would most likely need to be a fan-project rather than official one, although an official Skin Editor would be nice.

this is a p3d skin

you compile it to xnb to use it, you will need visual c# express 2010 and xna 4.0 refresh installed, then you make a blank game project and put your skin in the content project and compile it, the xnb will be with the exe for your game in /bin/x86/debug/ in that project's folder, usually located in my documents/visual studio 2010/my projects/

it's just an animated sprite ;)

Dont you.think it will be awsome if it tured to mmo
.. I think your post is on the wrong thread. Also, allow me to correct this for you.

'Don't you think it would be awesome if it was turned into an MMO'.

Also, the idea was already turned down officially. If the game is developed far enough one day, it may be capable of being hosted on servers like Minecraft. As of current, I don't know if that will be happening any time soon, or if it's in the works. I only know 1-4 player gameplay is approved and coming.

I just posted a similar Idea :L
Bust yea I agree something easy to use like Minecraft.
our skins aren't UV mapped dude, it's not like there's an arcane art to making sprite sheets

if you have the skills necessary to create a skin you can probably draw a character within the 32x32 spaces. i like to line them up by their shoes if you're matching the HG/SS body shapes

step 1: get this http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/downloads#d-2010-express
step 2: get this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23714
step3: open visual c# express up, start a new project, select a blank windows XNA game
step 4:

your files will be in C:\Users\username\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\WindowsGame1\WindowsGame1\WindowsGame1\bin\x86\Debug\Content

you can also just place the custom skin in the game files and not bother with the content pack if you don't play multiplayer. even if you play multiplayer you can share your custom skin, either making the other players drop the skin files in the right place before you play, or have them running the same content pack with both your skins in it so you both see them
