Duplicate 2nd battle with rival caused game crash

Describe the bug you experienced here.
I defeted the 2nd gym leader, after moving on I started the battle with my rival, ( docterdouchbag) and after switching out my pokemon (sandshrew) for totadile, I used Bite and the game crashed.
What I expected to happen:
I would continue the battle as normal, nothing like this has happened before.

What actually happened:
The game just shut down and I was brought the first screen before you even start up the game.

Steps to reproduce:
1. leave 2nd gym
2. Battle rival

Tried again and following the same steps, totadile used bite on ghastly the game crashed, version 0.53.2

Vote on both since it is a bug I introduced which crashes when either side is sleeping. You may not see the prompt but that's how terrible it is.
