Nintendo shop and Digital releases?

Does anyone knows if Nintendo Digital Store works like as Steam or only for that device until it's totally broke and you lost your bought game forever with it?
I'm living in Europe, so which Digital Nintendo Shop is better and cheaper would be for me: America or Europe?

Pika believes that digital purchases are a permanent downloadable purchase. If Pika is not mistaken, there is an account that has all your purchases saved to one profile.

To answer your second question, you live in Europe, so it would be both cheaper and quicker to buy from the European. That way, you won't have to have to deal with conversion rates to get £ to $US.

So it goes like in Steam under same account not under same device? If it's true then I buy Digital releases.:)
I believe $ has much cheaper value then € or £, because I check conversion how much 1$ would be in €/£ and it's a lot less then 1. But I more worried about playability for American Digital Copy in Europe?

Well, don't quote Pika, but it is more than likely to work the same as steam. If you can, save all your digital downloads to an SD card, then when you transfer everything over to a new 3ds, all you have to do is reinstall the games, the saves should still be there.

More often than not, digital downloads are not region locked, but you might get the occasional locked game. Either way, sticking to your region is probably better to avoid possible complications.
