Catching a legendary

In this game has anyone successfully caught a legendary Pokemon? I'm trying to catch Articuno now, but after many attempts I just can't get get past the last check. I use higher level Pokemon, sleep/paralyze it, get it down to less than 5% HP, and using Ultra Balls. Is there another trick that I'm forgetting about doing to help me catch it?

Try using special Pokeballs with unique properties (such as ones made from Apricorns, or sold in Goldenrod/Celadon Malls) in certain situations to give you an edge.

For example: Fast Balls tend to be very effective on Entei or Raikou.

If you poke with Ultra Balls, at a certain moment you will catch it ! But you must be patient
