I suggest be good get more moves slots, there two ways I suggest how to get more moves slots
1. After beating every regions, that means 1 completed region = 1 more Pokemon moves slot. Region complete means: get all that region badges and beat Elite 4 with Champion (If Elite Fours and Champions be in game). 1 completed region = 1 more moves slot.
2. Buy moves slots. 1 slot = 1000000000 Pokemoney.

Having more move slots, makes it easier to defeat the Elite 4 with only one pokemon. It actually removes strategy instead of adding more depth into it, which I do not consider healthy for the Pokemon games. One of the things I also found challenging in the Elite 4 (first generation, I was a kid, don't shoot me for it) was properly managing your PP if you were soloing. It would merely be a walk in the park if we add more move slots.

I do understand it is a difficult choice when you level up and learn a new epic move, while you already have 4 epic moves. I hope there will be some sort of move tutor in this game to re-learn old moves. :)

No. That would throw an imbalance of the Pokemon world and this would never ever happen in Pokemon 3D, if it did I would be disappointed.

Agreed.

W/R/T relearning, blizzard put in a pokemon style pet battling system with all the usual pokemon things like capturing, but it used a different move system. Each pet had 3 move slots, the first is available from level 1, then the second slot at 2, and the 3rd slot at 4. The moves that come with these slots can't be changed and depend on the pet. At level 10 the first slot gets an alternative move, the 2 moves are mutually exclusive, this new move can't go in slot 2 and 3. At 15 slot 2 gets the second move and at 20 the last slot gets its other move. The moves can be swapped between at any time. The move sets are more static but I like that you can freely change the move sets at high levels. You can try out new combos (you can only have 3 pets in your party so choosing which of the 3 moves to use matters a lot)

It would be cool to have it so a pokemon can swap between any move it has been taught, or wanted to learn. There are very good arguments for permanent choices in games, but there is something to be said about the freedom to experiment games with free respecs have. When the game involves team building it can be even more powerful. Also, unless something changes you can do it yourself with a text editor without needing an NPC to do it for you, but it would be nice to have the game let you do that without cracking open notepad.

Very, very, very liking that last idea.

But when would you be able to swap these moves? Would it only require you to open up your menu at any given time, or should it only be made available at the poke center? Because having every possible move stored and swapping them within the Elite 4 would just get rid of the pp managing stuff, even though there are plenty of items and even berries that refill PP... I guess I kind of appreciate the challenge the Elite presented in generation 1. Probably a personal opinion though :D

Right now if you can save, quit and reload between the fights you can do that in notepad anyway. As an actual ingame system I would tie it to a relearner NPC like you suggested. This way if you can go back to the town the NPC is in you can change your moves. Some games like guild wars 2 let you swap moves whenever you are out of combat, but others tie it to being in town.

The relearner guy could offer his services for free, or they could take items/money as payment.

This sort of system might seem overly powerful to some but if you can only use 4 moves at any given time and it doesn't allow you to learn moves it can't have learned at that point it doesn't translate to more powerful pokemon, just flexibility in team building. Unless everyone considers leveling the same pokemon again because you want different moves an essential part of the game there aren't that many reasons not to just let people do it officially, and like I said, it can be done by editing your save anyway.

I think that more than 4 moves make a Pokemon too strong. You don´t need a good Strategy anymore because you have so many moves.

yeah, I wouldn't advocate more move slots in a million years. 4 Moves makes each of those 4 moves really important.

I'd just like it so if someone plays through this and gets their pokemon to 100 they don't end up looking at the move set they chose and going 'should have got ___ instead', it would let you do more builds with the same pokemon, instead of releveling them. This is particularly useful for pokemon like mewtwo, lugia etc that you only get 1 of per game.

The only problem I see is you wouldn't have to rebuy TMs, but if retraining cost about as much as a TM it'd just be a single place to relearn old moves. This kind of build flexibility can lead to people just copying builds off the net but you get that with games without respecs too, and on the other hand it would let people experiment without worrying they can't get a move back. I haven't seriously played pokemon in MP since gen 2 though so I'm kind of talking about a metagame I don't have that much experience on, if I'm wrong feel free to correct me.

Pokemon doesn't get balance patches either does it? This game could, if that was something nilllzz wanted to do, in that case a move set that was stupid good might not be as OP anymore and having a team built around the assumption that it works would probably need to change some moves to adjust, this sort of system would make that less of a headache

The relearner could maybe not be able to retrain the same pokemon in a day, so you can decide to try something new that day but you can't just change the moves around after every fight. being able to change moves a lot can be good though, depending on how the game is tuned. If we end up fighting level 100 trainers with weird and varied teams the ability to min/max your party fast would be a huge convenience. Gold/silver as it was made by gamefreak is not tuned this tightly though, the level cap is well above what NPCs can bring into battle

Move Relearner is nothing new. It's been in the majority of new Pokemon games and all you need is a Heart Scale per move.

Move Tutors are also nothing new and also require some rare payment.

I would like to see both of these in the game.

Excellent. I didn't play past gen 2 so I don't know all the new things they put in. I've had a little look at soulsilver and the player battles have a bunch of new game modes that sound really interesting, I'm sure there's lots of things gamefreak put in after the old GB/GBC ones that would be great to have in this.

You could break the game having more slots, you could have combinations of moves that would literally make a lot of the stronger Pokemon unstoppable. It really adds a lot more thinking to the game when there are only four slots.
I mean doing online battling and spending hours and hours researching the best move sets, that's a huge portion of the game.

TL;DR
The creators have a good thing going with four slots, we should leave it at that.

o_O Ok. Maybe it's time for me to buy a pokemon game past gen 2 lol. How rare is a heart scale then? I don't mind doing efforts to relearn my moves, but since we kind of try to promote the multiplayer aspect of the game with online leagues/invasions (whatever, refer to suggestions section), I'd appreciate it if they grew on a tree or something with a spawn rate of once a day.
