Can't see friend's player sprite

Hello, I hope this is the right place to post this (first post on forum )

The problem I'm having is that I can't see my friend's player sprite on our multiplayer server. She can see her sprite on her screen, and I can see my sprite on my screen, but we cannot see each others' sprites.
I used png format when I uploaded my skin and I used the template example when making the custom sprite.
I've probably done something silly, but I can't seem to find what's wrong >.< if you need any more information I'll explain whatever you need me to

It's actually 50/50 chance to see each other sprites atm or something like that, so wait for solution.

Fly or surf to force the skin to change.

Thank you both for answering I'll surf and use fly, and in the case it still doesn't work, I'll just wait.
