Is There a Point to Pokemon 3D?

Soon Pokemon X and Y will come out and you all know what that means.... Pokemon will be officially introduced to 3D landscapes. I was thinking if there is any point to making pokemon 3d right before this new arrival comes. People will most likely look at this project and laugh at it when pokemon X and Y is released. Another thing, we all know Pokemon 3D Hoenn version is being worked on, but most likely pokemon emerald, ruby, and saphire will be the first official 3D remake for the next gen since they are the next in line for a remake. So that seems especially pointless. Anyways i just wanted to see how everyone else viewed the matter.

It's because Pokemon 3D is like Soul Silver. Soul Silver is an older game than Pokemon X and Y. I'd actually prefer this game over Pokemon X and Y any day.

It's free, it's highly moddable, it works on the PC, and nostalgiafags like me might get a real kick out of seeing the old regions in 3D.

Unlike SSD I will prefer X And Y In fact I just pre-ordered them both 20 Minutes ago :D However the points are as follows.

1: The point is not so much making it as the fact its on a PC platform and naturally computers can still outdo Most gaming systems provided you have one that is at least semi decent.

2: Its for nostalgia

3: To appease interested fans till X and Y actually do come out and perhaps afterwords till some of them see if X and Y even interest them enough to be worth getting for them or till prices come down.

4: For those who don't have, can't afford or don't wanna get a freaking 3DS for whatever reasons.

5: Though much hasn't been said by nillz ( the genius creator with the idea ta make this ) some developers on here have hinted or mentioned but on the note of potential its that we could hopefully see several or all regions unified in one game something that sadly will likely never be seen or least not seen anytime soon.

I could go on but I don't wanna turn rant mode

Do not laugh about Pokemon 3D because it's freaking awesome and made by normal people like me who happen to like Pokemon just like you, if not much much more than you.
In fact, I've been waiting anxiously for another fan-made Pokemon game by a French girl (I think she's a girl)
to come out far more than Pokemon X/ Y. Why? Because it's being done a by a normal person.
Lastly, Johto is better than Hoenn. Have a nice day:snaphappy:

Well, the big difference between Pokemon3D and X&Y is that you can't play X&Y yet. Pokemon3D might likely be finished with Johto by October, when Pokemon X&Y is out. And X&Y is 3D, but not the way you would want it to be. Just look at the trailer. The 3D camera is very very strange in my opinion.

However, we know the fact is that knowing how Gamefreak is, It may not go to all of the Regions, wont be customizable, all it is, its just another extension to Unova (which is neat btw). The pokemon does look promiseing but Gamefreak will continue to do the same thing like all thier games. The only one that was Customizable was That game on the Wii. (the name simply sliped my mind)

Unlike on Pokemon 3D, Modders (like me) can keep creating and keep the Pokemon 3D much more... lets say, Enjoyable with unless amount of content. like what Myself, Darkfire, and Prince Vade are working on. The Hoenn Region. which that wont stop there, it will continue till all the Regions are completed. (which now you heard from me)
Poke3D is a place where unlike Gamefreak's Titles, can come in and Help one another during the game. either it is a Trade, Pvp Battles, Assist Battles and all those neat features that is yet to be implemented. is one thing Gamefreak will never consider anytime soon.
Hopefully the Community (you) could understand why Poke3D came about in the first place (which was thought of a great idea before X and Y was Annouced) so please enough with the Rants and continue playing and supporting this wonderful Indie Pokemon Game that Gamefreak would never consider.

And Darkfire is really cool, he helped me get myself into the game. Playing as ME is something Gamefreak would never help me with (at least hasn't to this point) I still love Gamefreak too though :finger:
