When I attempt to leave to the west, I am told before reaching the gate that there is unfinished business to take care of. I can't imagine what I missed.

Did you defeat the Ecruteak Gym?

There's a Gym guy blocking the door, which says "Hey, don't be cheating!" When spoken to. However, I got there legitimately. I'm confused.
Did you do the events in the Burned Tower?

It's blocked off by Strength rocks. It's not possible to get Strength or Surf at this point in the game, it seems. Seeing as how I was led into Mt. Mortar, I thought I would have run into another quest/prompt by now.

Alexis is the Protagonist;s Real Name. but you have the choice to call the protagonist any name you want. such as Samantha (as per your game)
The Story ends in Tin Tower, but you need to find Eliza first. which should of entered the Kimono Restaurant. after that of series of cutscenes, she should be in Mt. Mortar.
once you find her, you would automatically be transported to one of the houses in Ecruteak with a middle aged man. from there it should direct you to Tin Tower.
1) Gym Battle is not available.
2) no such story progression west of town
neither locations are available
read my previous post if your lost.
remember that End Point is Tin Tower for now till a big update comes up.
also note that even if Gym Guy says "Dont be Cheating!"
there isnt even a gym battle in that gym yet nor implemented. that gym is required for a complete overhaul due to a new gym leader.
i believe you remember Johanna in one of my WIP Posts.
she wont be available till the next big update. which would continue after Tin Tower.
because after Tin Tower will be a new area. and will start you off there. after that would direct you to more story stuff and plot devices.

Burned Tower isnt even a thing. and if you did managed to enter, everything is just broken. and isnt even part of 1YL3D hence the Strength Rocks.
plus, theres no way for you to get Strength unless you beaten Johanna. and again, she isnt available and if she was, she would be available AFTER Tintower. because you will meet her in the new area.
you met her before, before defeating Falkner right? you promised to go see her.
(if it wasnt much clear, that would mean i need to go back and tweek a little of the dialogue.)

No, I just beat Falkner and I haven't heard about any El- wait, you mean the Kabutops that I OHKO'd! Man, Moosh was awesome in that. Nah, I thought I would see her later or something. I'll go see her next, then!
Bonus Question: are the normal-type and flying-type eeveelutions u mentioned in the WIP thread in the pack yet?
they are not, im trying to figure out what im going to do with them...
