Thanks for the replies guys i tried editing Lugia using gimp.
At first i tried re-sizing the canvas to have a bigger width however that had no effect because like u said the program looks for the biggest size.
I then tried to scale the image down that worked however i ended up with these...

So far i have gotten this error with

Well balls seems we might have another problem thought i would load up some random pokemon to try and i tested lugia and came to the conclusion that his animations were all messed up.
After checking the animation file i saw it had nothing to do with the game handling the animations rather that...

Ppprre are u working on gen1 currently? Just want to know so we dont end up doing the same things.
Also DracoHouston those skeleton files for the pokémon with what tool do u create those?
Completely rewrote the folder creator tool so that u can give up the folders where the .gif files are located and have them be moved to the correct folder no more manually dragging files into their folders.
Instructions down below:
Just checked the tool and apparently it does didn't even notice it until now however it does require you to go trough a couple of steps of clicking creating the folders one by one where as this program uses a list and creates the folders after u added the pokemon to the list guess it saves some...
Coming along very nicely great job so far :D
I was wondering though would it be possible to implement a option to switch between camera angles or "View Points" as u could call them basically memorizing the current position and angle of the camera for easy swapping between for instance regular...
Whipped up a program in java to create the folder structure of the animations copy pasting the folders by hand got a bit tedious hopefully this speeds up the progress a bit.
I would automate the entire process if i could however i do not have the knowledge to create such a program guess this...
Is there a general place where we can upload the finished files to and a place where we can check what has been finished?
As of now it is hard to figure out what has and has not been converted yet.
Forgot to mention in order for XNAFormatter to work u need to have Microsoft Visual Studio i use the 2010 C# version
available for free here http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/downloads#d-2010-express
Once installed u need to download XNA Game studio available from here...
Can u explain your file / folder structure a bit more clear Ppprre? I am currently in the works of converting the Gen 2 Sprites obtained from here http://sprites.pokecheck.org/?gen=2 (Just save the html page and u will save the entire collection of .gif and .png with it)
the .gif needs to be...

The features i would love to see in the map editor although not easy to implement but would help alot in the long run are the following:
Ability to edit in 2d mode as in the old tile editors this would allow for easy creation of the ground floors...
