Not a bug [0.45.1] lost exp share

I accidentally released a pokemon with exp share. The item didn't go back into my inventory and I think i lost it forever.

i'm sorry if i wasted your time if it isn't. I would have thought it would back into your bag. Is there a way to get another one?

No, that is not a bug. I just did a bit of research and at least in Pokémon Platinum, the item will be lost when you release a Pokémon.
And right now there's no way of getting another EXP share, you might be able to in the future.
EDIT: Also, I think its better that you report something that might be a bug than not reporting it at all. I don't consider the time researching that as "wasted"

Well, you can get an exp share from the lucky numbers show (or whatever the radio tower lottery is called)
