Is it the:

IV's stand for Individual Values. Like EV's (Effort Values) every pokemon has them. I must say, stay to studying EV's because IV's involve complex maths to work out. Let's just say you would have to go online to find out your pokemon's IV's. It's impossible to find out in the game, where as EV's are possible to find in-game.
