E4 isn't mono-type. The E4 is a tactical team like Weather teams, trick room and that kind of stuff. If they wanted to be in the E4, they'd need to change their teams.
I dont get it... E4 should be hardest player to defeat... not to mention Mono-type can run also Tactical Team like
Poison can run Batton pas/Toxic/sleep/Burn aka: annynoing team.
Water can run Rain/Swift Swim
Bug can
run with U-Turn/Bpass
Fly Can run with whirlwin

etc there is soo many options.... -_-
What I mean is that the Pokemon types don't matter in the E4 aslong as it's tactical.

Why is there still a discussion going on in a thread that was posted back in September? Not only that, but it's a game/website thread.

*Facepalm* The amount of stupidity....
Anyway, this is an event/feature a lot of people are waiting for and looking forward to. People are preparing their teams, some of them are done and we are still discussing whom to take for the spots. (Which won't be decided until a week before PvP gets implemented, probably.)

E4 will all be ex champions(or staff used to fill the spot :p)
whenever someone looses the Champion spot they are given the option to take the highest E4 slot
if they choose to everyone is pushed down one slot
there will be a badge requirement for challenging a GL for his spot(4-6 badges)
we will not keep track of your team during gym challenges so feel free to challenge Dazi with an Electric team or something but remember the gym leaders should be planning for this :p
We will keep track of your teams for an E4 challenege
for each level of the E4 we will allow a "soft reset" which basically give you two chances for each E4 member clearing them will allow you to face the champ
we might only give you 2 "soft resets" but for the sake of practicality we might allow you to skip the E4 if you have cleared them?
we will see :p

Note: All concepts posted in this thread are just that: concepts
please don't complain if something is not the same when it starts up later there will probably be a good reason for it :p

I change from rock to steel type, my team is also prepared:
everyone is goin for the steel types, Oh well, I wish you luck friend. And its funny, but me and you have the same exact team, on P3D, Except the ones i have are nature selected with Ev's, but i did mess up a little bit on my lucario.

not to surprising since there are only 9 steel types available right now.

ill be good guy.... If you boys dont wanna have bad time as steel Type, better change Steelix or Aggron for Empoleon. Other way, say hello to Blaziken and Infernape,

Honestly, I would change Scizor over Aggron or Steelix, with a 4x weakness to fire, say hello to one less Pokemon to fight with. With Infernapes base 108 speed, 104 base attack and special attack, Scizor has little chance against him.

Im still prefer remove Steelix, Scizor only weakness is Fire, Empoleon is much better choice than Steelix.

Well Steelix has a base defence of 200, so it wouldn't be such a great idea to take it out. Along with Mega Aggron's 230 base defence, both of them would be unwise to take out. Plus when you go to fight a steel type, the first thing you'd send out is either a fire, fighting or ground. Empoleon is weak to two of them, and neutral to fire. Scizor v Infernape = Infernape one shot with either flamethrower or fire punch.

hmm mby its not bad to kick scizor or lucario, but still as i think you dont need Steelix when you have Aggron (or Aggron when have an Steelix):

Steelix is Great against physical Fire poks but still dont work well on Fire/Fight:
Steelix: Stealth Rock, Roar, EQ, Ice Fang

Set up SR hurts Fire poks on soo many lvls, also do STAB EQ but it dont hurt Fire/Fight combo as much. Mby with sturdy he will be able to 1hko them not sure.

Aggron on other hand can do same work: Stealth Rock, Roar, Head Smash or Stone Edge, Heavy Slam. With Sturdy will for sure 1hko them cos of manly Attack power.
Set up SR, Then Roar main threat, and high chances to 1hko many pokemons with 2 moves

For me Aggron is superrior to Steelix cos of power. For sure both can Suicide to takedown main threats, and make at last 4v4 fight. But its up for GL if they want play like this. On other hand it can be supprise for ppl, and punish them for a picking brainless fire poks, and make hard time for them in 4v4.

I'm not sure I would say steelix is "great" against physical fire pokes, his high defence is a boon but he always has to take a 3x hit before responding with an EQ, and if the EQ coming off his meager 85 attack can't ohko the opponent for whatever reason then he is dead to a 2hko, saying nothing for any specially offensive threats he has to face.

Aggron is nice but still suffers from the same inability to take special hits that steelix does; in that regard he can't really use sturdy as the rock head/ head smash combo is pretty much a prerequisite to his use and using head smash with sturdy would defeat its purpose anyways. Also using roar on him is pretty much giving the opponent a free turn to get off whatever attack they packed to deal with steel or gives the opponent a chance to find a pokemon that can do the same which can have major consequences as aggron can't really take special hits.

All in all I agree aggron is the better choice and you would never want both for the long haul, Empoleon is pretty much needed in a team like this; perhaps forrettress too, no one seems to be using that.
