Making custom skins WITHOUT .xnb Converter(s)

Red Rose submitted a new resource:

Making custom skins WITHOUT .xnb Converter(s) - Letting .png become the skin...

In the "...\Pokemon\Content\Textures\NPC"
Step 1 - Rename/Move/Delete the .xnb for the skin you wish to replace.

Step 2 - Copy into the folder the skin as a .png with the respective file-name
(Ex: Hilbert.xnb DELETED > Hilbert.png ADDED)

Step 3 - Launch the launcher and play.

(Note: Sometimes when an .xnb overlaps a .png in-game, the .png might flash.)

You should also note somewhere in there that this only works in Offline mode.

editing a script is as simple as opening the file in notepad and changing something
same with a map file
the only thing people can't edit is save files
Yes, I thought a person's online sprite was located in the save files.
oh he is describing editing the npc texture file
not which npc is used by your char
and the save file only tells the game what sprite to use
the sprite is still on your HDD so you can edit it to something else(but only you will see the effects)

I wish to mention to you that the last reply in this thread was over a third of a year ago.
ik, just thought id mention that i used notepad to do so
all you do is go in the saves file, to your character and there is your hacking gold mine
only a few features hidden such as diagonals break the game. i also bred a mewtwo from a magikarp by tweaking magikarp's file
you got anything else to say

Oh, you can mess with your offline save file all you want, you won't have any battling/trading with that specific save file anyway. :p
